Every deadline in the syllabus, in your calendar.
Syllabus → Calendar would read the syllabus PDF, find every dated deadline, and put them in your calendar. When a date is unclear, it would tell you which page to check instead of guessing.
Syllabus → Calendar
Built by you · for BIOL 201
Steps
- 1Read the syllabus PDF
- 2Find every dated deadline
- 3Write them to your calendar
Checks on the last test run
- 14 deadlines found
- 0 dates guessed
- 2 need your eyes · p.4, p.9
What it would do, step by step
- Reads the syllabus PDF, including the schedule table most syllabi bury on page 4.
- Finds every dated deadline: assignments, quizzes, exams, drop dates.
- Writes them to your calendar as a file you import, so it never needs your calendar password or your university login.
The checks it has to pass on every run
- Dates guessed: 0. “Week 7” with no date, or “TBA”, is not turned into a made-up day.
- Unclear dates are flagged with the page they came from (“2 need your eyes · p.4, p.9”), so checking takes a minute, not a reread.
- Every event links back to the line of the syllabus it came from.
Why this one keeps getting built
When we searched GitHub on 20 September 2026, 128 public repositories matched “syllabus parser” or “syllabus to calendar”, a large share of them created in 2025 or 2026. One was a course assignment. The same small tool is rebuilt from scratch, by a different student, roughly every few weeks. Part of the reason, we think, is that there is nowhere to put one that others can simply use.
We now re-run that count every month in the Rebuild Index, alongside six other student tools that get rebuilt the same way.
That is the problem educagents is for. Build it once, well, with checks that show it didn’t guess, and the rest of your course can use yours.
What it might cost
The builder sets the price. The card above shows $0.40 per run as an illustration. A syllabus is read once a term, so it could just as well be free. Publishing and pricing are designed but not built yet. See how building and pricing would work.
